Dr. Jimmy Tung Nguyen is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with extensive training in both dentistry and medicine. Known for his steady clinical judgment and approachable demeanor, Dr. Nguyen treats a wide range of surgical needs, including dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, oral pathology, and sedation-based oral surgery.
He is committed to delivering high-quality surgical outcomes through careful planning, modern technology, and individualized patient care.
Education & Training
Dr. Nguyen’s residency included six years of comprehensive surgical training in dentoalveolar procedures, anesthesia, facial trauma, and craniofacial surgery. His dual training in dentistry and medicine equips him to manage complex surgical and medical cases with precision and confidence.

Clinical Experience
Before joining Valley Oral Surgery, Dr. Nguyen treated patients in private practice in the South Bay. He now sees patients in both Livermore and Dublin offices, providing continuity of care from consultation to post-operative recovery.
Dr. Nguyen is certified in IV sedation and general anesthesia, and is particularly skilled in caring for patients who require advanced surgical planning or have underlying medical conditions.

Raised in San Jose and trained throughout California, Dr. Nguyen brings a strong sense of local community to his work. His patient care philosophy is built on education, empathy, and efficiency. He takes the time to explain procedures in clear terms, answer questions thoroughly, and ensure that patients feel well-informed at every step. He believes that a well-prepared patient experiences better outcomes — both clinically and emotionally.
When he's not in surgery, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with family, camping, visiting national parks, and playing guitar. His grounding outside of work supports his calm, patient-focused approach in the operatory.
